Welcome to High Country Shetlands, home to a small flock of shetland sheep. We are located in the beautiful Peace River Area in northeastern British Columbia, just 20 minutes out of Fort St John, BC and offer purebred breeding stock as well as pets and whethers.
Our breeding program is focused on producing quality fleeces in rare and unusual colours and patterns. All this without compromising their Conformation. We select our breeding stock for their physical soundness, wool quality and lastly colour. Shetlands are a delightful little wool sheep that are a pleasure to own and easy to raise. They love attention and when people visit their pasture Shetlands run over for a scratch (they wag their tails) and of course a few treats. They are perfect for small properties and beginner shepherds and children.
We also maintain a commercial herd of Angus x Gelvieh cows along with a small buffalo herd, pigs and heritage chickens (Ameraucana, Speckled Sussex, Top Hat Polish, , Blue Cochin, Dark Cornish, Partridge Chantecler, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Blue Silkie. We have butcher animals for sale in the fall, piglets in spring and fall, a limited supply of hatching eggs and chicks.
